Our Family PDF Print E-mail

Emmaus House was established to meet two primary needs of the seniors living in Prince George, BC and the surrounding area:

  1. From the observation of our founding committee, we were convinced that a high percentage of seniors that seek to maintain residency in their own homes, while doing so is admirable, nevertheless, they have not maintained proper diet and healthy eating habits.  So in our food services planning, we have sought to follow a schedule  that provides a balanced diet of healthy foods.
  2. Again from the observation of our founding committee, we have been made aware of the loneliness of seniors as they continue to live in their homes and apartments.  So, we do a variety of activities to draw the residents of Emmaus House into fellowship with one another.  We also encourage family and friends to keep contact with our residents, by visiting them at Emmaus House, or by taking the residents into their own homes for family activities.

Emmaus House has a capacity for housing ten residents.  We do not have any intention of expanding Emmaus House because we believe that about ten is the maximum number in order for us to be able to maintain a family atmosphere.

During the past two years, we have maintained our full capacity.  If you are serious in your desire to have a senior from your family move to Emmaus House in the future, please speak with our House Manager by calling us at 964-1175.  Information and an application for residency can be provided for you.
